Exciting news for Porthcawl! A new Welsh-medium school is on the horizon, with Bridgend Council giving the green light to develop it on the existing Porthcawl Primary School grounds. 🚸🌿

The upcoming facility will offer a vibrant learning environment with a car park, play spaces, and two all-weather pitches. Accessed from Pant Morfa, this seedling school will host 30 nursery and 30 reception places. It’s not just about education; full-time childcare (16 places) and part-time (32 places) for babies up to school age are also in the mix. Plus, there’s after-school and holiday care for those busy parents! All in Welsh, ensuring a cultural immersion for the kiddos. 🎓🌟

When fully operational, we’ll see 8 to 10 full-time staff bringing the plan to life. Not everyone’s on board, though. Four local residents had their say, raising concerns about increased traffic and drainage issues. But the plans passed unanimously, adding to the excitement of a 420-place replacement primary school planned for Kenfig Hill as well.
