🚨 Shocking Incident at the Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly! 🚨

A terrifying moment unfolded near Caerphilly’s lively food festival when 18-year-old Kieron Harper pointed a handgun at a man’s head. Witnesses were left in disbelief as Harper, using money from his government Child Trust Fund, purchased the weapon—a Beretta air pistol—and threatened a random festival-goer.

It all started when the victim parked his car on Windsor Street. Harper, described as “agitated,” approached the vehicle, rapped on the window, and ominously asked, “Look at my gun. Do you want to see my gun?” before firing into the ground, then re-aiming at the victim’s head.
Thankfully, a quick-thinking steward from the festival bravely intervened, telling Harper he was being filmed. Instead of doing the smart thing and backing off, Harper flipped off the steward and casually strolled away.
The police quickly got involved and managed to track Harper down, retrieving the weapon and other related items. Harper, who had a turbulent past and no previous convictions, faced the music in Swansea Crown Court. The judge acknowledged Harper’s challenging background and his current efforts at rehabilitation, but noted the severe impact on the victim—fearful for his life and future.
Harper, now sentenced to three years in a young offenders institution, will serve part of his time behind bars before release on licence. We can only hope this time offers him a chance for change.
Kudos to the festival steward for their brave action! 🙌 Stay safe, everyone, and be sure to report any suspicious behaviour. #CommunityHero #StaySafeCaerphilly #BigCheeseFestivalDrama
