The dogs—Precious, Destiny, and Diamond—were found “mummified” due to a lack of food and water and had been left in their kennels for months. RSPCA inspectors were called to the scene and described the conditions as “heartbreaking.”

Despite losing her wife, Fletcher-Oates admitted to neglecting the dogs for a critical six-day period. When she eventually returned, Destiny and Diamond had already died, and Precious succumbed a few weeks later despite being tended to.

During the court hearing, Fletcher-Oates expressed remorse. She received a suspended 20-week prison sentence and will have to pay £854 in costs. More importantly, she’s been prohibited from keeping animals forever.

This case serves as a strong reminder to seek help when struggling with animal care responsibilities. Let’s ensure our pets receive the love and care they deserve. 🐾❤️
