🏉 Heartbreak for Welsh Rugby Hopeful and Exciting Squad Updates!
Big rugby news ahead of Wales’ clash with South Africa! Uncapped James Fender was set for his debut, but a pesky shoulder injury has dashed his hopes. After wowing at the regional level, it’s a tough blow for Fender, who’s now back at the Ospreys. But don’t worry, his talents will grace the field soon enough once he’s healed up!
In a squad shake-up, James Ratti joins the Welsh camp and is ready to step up. He’s now named among the replacements, alongside starting second-rows Rhys Davies and Ben Carter for the weekend showdown.
Steve Tandy has explained why Harri Deaves sits this one out, despite a lively debut against the All Blacks. With Alex Mann, Taine Plumtree, and the returning Aaron Wainwright in the back-row, Tandy is confident in the squad’s balance. Deaves is recognised for his fierce effort against New Zealand, while Morgan Morse adds some versatility off the bench. Tandy praises Deaves’ drive, promising we’ll see more of him soon!
Meanwhile, rugby legend Conor Murray lavishes praise on Sam Warburton, including him in an all-time dream team. Warburton, lauded for fierce performances and stellar leadership, made history leading the Lions with O’Connell and O’Driscoll by his side. It’s no easy feat, but Warburton’s legacy in the sport is nothing short of epic!
On the transfer front, Joe Marchant is heading back to England, joining Sale Sharks and bringing him back into the England fold for potential selection for the 2027 World Cup. Sale’s putting together a powerhouse squad, and Marchant’s return is set to be a key pillar in their plans.
Stay tuned for all the adrenaline-pumping rugby action, and show your support for our boys this weekend against South Africa! 💪🌟🏉
