Rugby fans, major updates are rolling in! 🚨 Adam Beard, the Wales lock, could be making waves in the rugby scene once more. Just a year after signing a three-year deal with Montpellier, whispers in France suggest Lyon might swoop in. Although Beard has shown his prowess in 20 matches this season, including a key role in Montpellier’s EPCR Challenge Cup triumph over Ulster, he’s not their top pick. Lyon is reportedly eager to bolster their ranks—and they have their eyes set on Beard. Could a transfer be on the cards? Only time will tell!
In more somber news, the rugby community mourns the loss of John Kear. Known and loved across the sport, Kear’s sudden passing has left a void for many, including legend Jonathan Davies. Reminiscing fond memories, Davies expressed his heartbreak: “Devastated with the news of John Kear passing… a true gentleman.” Kear’s legacy as a former Wales coach, with victories in the European Championship and appearances at World Cups, cements his influence in the sport. Tributes are flooding in, underscoring the respect and admiration he garnered throughout his storied career.
And there’s more! Lewis Moody, a stalwart for MND awareness, is embarking on a monumental 500-mile charity cycle from Newcastle to Twickenham. Joining him are Kathy and Hamish Weir, representing the legacy of the late Doddie Weir, who was a beacon of hope in the MND community until his passing in 2022. Encouraged by Doddie’s courage and unyielding spirit, Moody and a host of former rugby stars aim to raise funds and awareness in the fight against MND.
