Tragic news from Cardiff as it’s been reported that Abigail Georgina Smith, aged 28, was found dead at a property on Summerfield Avenue. Police and paramedics responded to the scene on the 8th of April, where she was sadly confirmed deceased. An inquest has begun to investigate the circumstances surrounding her passing.

During the inquest’s opening session at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that Abigail was found by her father. Coroner’s officer Joanne Webb stated that a post mortem at the University Hospital of Wales suggested the cause of death was pressure on the neck consistent with hanging. Further details, including the results of toxicology tests, are expected in due course.
The senior coroner, Graeme Hughes, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to Abigail’s family and has adjourned the inquest to be resumed at a later date.

Our thoughts are with Abigail’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
