Diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in April 2025, Caitlin’s journey was marked by determination and hope. Her twin sister Grace had been raising funds for the specialised treatment Caitlin was seeking abroad.
Caitlin’s battle took a sudden turn after a serious brain bleed led to multiple strokes, contributing to her tragic and rapid health decline. Despite an initial remission following months of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, devastating news in May 2026 revealed the cancer had returned. Her family was actively campaigning for funding to access potentially life-saving treatment overseas.
In a moving post on the Saving Caitlin Facebook page, her family shared the sad news: “With heavy hearts, we must announce that Caitlin passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family’s love, aged just 24.” Caitlin’s dream was to live a full life, imagining adventures and shared memories with her family and friends. Her twin sister Grace, who stepped away from work to support her, wrote on their fundraising page: “Caitlin was holding onto the hope of a future filled with dreams and the ordinary beauty of life.”
Caitlin had planned to join the Army as an intelligence officer after graduating from the University of Bristol but was sadly derailed by her diagnosis.
