Heartbreaking news from our community. A family has been torn apart by a tragic series of events. Andrew Tinsley, a father of three, lost his life in a tragic accident in the River Dee, Llangollen. He was known for his love of the river and his adventurous spirit. Heartbreakingly, his mother, Carol Tinsley, was killed in a car crash while on her way to identify his body, leaving the family grieving two devastating losses in one day.

Carol was not just a grandmother but a guiding light and guardian to her grandchildren. She was a vibrant, social person with a love for sitcoms and the Royal family. Her presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

The accident occurred as Carol and family members were just 30 minutes away from Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The collision took place in Chester, involving a grey Cupra Born and a black Kia Sportage. Tragically, Carol, who was a passenger in the Kia, did not survive.
Lisa, Carol’s granddaughter and Andrew’s niece, described the phone call when the accident happened. The sound of screams and crashing will forever haunt her, leaving the family shattered and struggling to comprehend their new reality.
In their time of grief, Lisa’s daughter Derrie has started an online fundraiser to cover the costs of a double funeral. With the family already burdened by medical bills and emotional trauma, the fundraiser aims to allow them to grieve without added financial stress.
This unimaginable double tragedy has left loved ones and the community in shock. It reminds us to hold our family tight and support each other through the toughest times. If you feel inclined, you can contribute to the fundraiser and help send Carol and Andrew off with dignity: [GoFundMe link]
Let’s rally around this family during their darkest hours and show them they are not alone.
