Heartbreaking news from the Welsh rugby community: Mark Jones, head coach of the Ospreys, expresses his devastation over the loss of his dear friend, Rob Mills. The former Wales U21s international passed away at just 45, following complications after a double-lung transplant. Known as a ‘true warrior’ on the field, Rob was a beloved figure both in his local clubs and the national deaf team.

Mark, who shared many memories with Rob from their younger days in Wales U18s, U19s, and U21s, describes him as a brilliant player—tough, uncompromising, and the soul of any team he was part of. His heartfelt message to Rob’s family speaks volumes about their bond: “I’m so sad for Rob’s immediate family, his partner, his children, his mum and dad, his brothers. It’s been a tough week.”
Rob’s wife, Jade, also shared an emotional tribute, calling Rob her “absolute whole world.” The couple enjoyed 10 wonderful years together, with Rob idolising their young son, Morgan. Jade recalled how hopeful they were for the future, especially after the lung transplant, which ultimately led to tragic complications.

Rob’s impact on those who knew him was profound, and he leaves behind a legacy of friendship, character, and an unforgettable presence in the rugby world. Our thoughts go out to his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Rob. You will be dearly missed. 🌹
