Shocking Betrayal from a Care Worker π

In a story that’s truly heart-wrenching, a care worker left a cherished great-granddad to die rather than waiting for an ambulance. Ronald Fearnehough, remembered as a fantastic and independent man, fell on his bathroom floor and cried out for help. Neighbours heard his desperate calls, but assistance came too late.

It was revealed in court that care worker Amy Goodier walked out on him, admitting to her bosses, “If I had called an ambulance, I would have been there for hours.” By the time help arrived, Ronald sadly passed away the following morning.

Goodier, who had a 17-year career in caregiving, showed deep remorse, yet the family remains devastated. Colin, Ronald’s son, shared their anguish, saying, “Losing our dad was the hardest thingβ¦ to see this woman not offer any help when he needed it and leaving him to die has destroyed us.”
In court, Goodier apologised and was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for two years, and will undergo 20 rehabilitation days.
This tragic event highlights the vulnerability of those relying on care and the irreversible impact of neglect. Ronald’s legacy as a cherished father and great-granddad lives on through the stories and memories his family now hold dear. π
