In a world where true heroes are hard to find, Cameron Williams’ family wants his courage to be remembered. At just 18, Cameron was involved in a tragic accident on the A4174 in Mangotsfield in December 2023. Though his friend Tyler Carley tragically lost his life, Cameron’s heroism shone brightly that dreadful night.

Despite the crash’s devastation, Cameron selflessly smashed the lorry’s windscreen, risking his own life to help get Tyler and their colleague Michael Ronner to safety. While Tyler couldn’t be saved, Cameron’s quick actions may have spared Ronner from severe injury or worse.
Sadly, the emotional scars from that fateful night haunted Cameron, leading to his untimely death by suicide in September 2024. His family, heartbroken yet proud, want Cameron remembered for his immense bravery and compassion. Cameron’s nan, Karen, shared the family’s sentiments, emphasising the incredible courage and selflessness he displayed.

The crash’s driver, Michael Ronner, admitted to causing death by careless driving and received a suspended sentence along with various other penalties. However, this outcome left Karen and the family deeply disappointed with the justice system.
Through their pain, Cameron’s family extends their thoughts and love to Tyler’s loved ones, acknowledging the phenomenal strength and dignity they’ve shown since that tragic event. Despite the heartbreak of losing Cameron, his family finds solace in believing he and Tyler are together, watching over one another.
In these challenging times, the bond formed through such profound loss has brought unexpected comfort and camaraderie between the families. They’re immensely thankful for the love and support shared during this devastating journey.
Cameron’s legacy lives on, not only in the memory of his remarkable courage and kindness but also in the hearts of all those who celebrate his life. Let’s honour Cameron by remembering the selfless hero he was.
