π¨ Heads up, adventurers! πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ Parts of the scenic Wales Coast Path have been temporarily closed due to hazardous conditions. ππ

In the beautiful LlΕ·n Peninsula, two sections are off-limits: between Traeth Towyn and Porth Ychain, and from Porthor to Anelog. Walkers have been reliving some nerve-wracking moments, with reports of paths slowly slipping, and some people saying they “literally nearly died”. π²

Earlier this year, a wooden footbridge collapsed into a sinkhole near Llangwnnadl, prompting urgent safety measures. With pathways submerged in mud and perilously close to steep drops into the sea, the decision was made to close these paths for everyone’s safety.
Cyngor Gwynedd is on it! They’ve set up alternative routes and are keeping a close eye on the situation. They urge anyone visiting to steer clear of the risky areas for now. π
This isnβt the first bump in the road for the 870-mile path. Recent heavy rain, erosion, and landslides have made 18 sections inaccessible. Notably, a couple of spots in Anglesey have faced landslides, causing some diversions.
Stay safe and choose the detours to enjoy the breathtaking Welsh coastline without the drama! Keep an eye out for updates on reopening. ποΈβ¨
