🌿 Exciting news from the Vale of Glamorgan! The stunning Gileston Manor, a cherished former wedding venue, is eyeing a fresh start as a charming guesthouse. With the local council’s nod, this historic manor, dating back to the 16th century, could soon welcome guests for delightful stays throughout most of the year!

After closing its wedding operations in late 2025, plans are now in motion to transform its beautiful function rooms and nine bedrooms into a welcoming retreat. Eight of these rooms will be available for guests, offering stays from two to three nights, mainly during the vibrant months between April and September.
Lorraine Garrad-Jones, one of the owners, believes this transformation will be a boon for the local community, boosting the rural economy with high-quality, bespoke accommodation. Imagine staying in a Grade II-listed manor surrounded by the tranquil, rural character of Gileston – simply enchanting!

The manor’s history is rich – it was redesigned in the 18th and 19th centuries to radiate the charm of a Queen Anne-style residence. Visitors can expect to be charmed by its limestone walls, ancient trees, and the peaceful lanes meandering through picturesque landscapes.
Stay tuned for updates on this exciting journey for Gileston Manor. If approved, it promises a perfect blend of historical elegance and modern comfort, right in the heart of the Welsh countryside. Who wouldn’t want to experience a slice of history with a modern twist? 🏰💫
