A heart-wrenching hit-and-run in Swansea has left a cyclist injured and in shock after a horrific ordeal. Ulugbek Meliev was on his way home from a Christmas shopping trip when he was struck from behind by a blue car along Gors Avenue on a Sunday afternoon. The driver allegedly paused, looked at him, then fled the scene down Townhill Road.

Ulugbek’s partner, Natallia, is now appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Poor Ulugbek was left sprawled on the ground for a couple of hours before two kind souls found him and called for an ambulance. He was rushed to Morriston Hospital with six broken bones in his arm, along with hand and head injuries. Heβs now in a cast and facing surgery after Christmas.

In her own words, Natallia said, “He is lucky to be alive. I can’t believe someone could do this and just abandon him in the road.” Ulugbek is understandably shaken by the incident, especially by the fact someone would just leave him injured.

The police have launched an investigation, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward. Let’s rally together to find justice for Ulugbek and help the authorities catch the person responsible for this appalling act. If you were around Townhill Road at 1.15pm on December 21 and saw anything, please contact South Wales Police.
