💖 A Hollywood Hero for Baby Ollie 💖
Big-hearted Ryan Reynolds has once again shown his incredible generosity! A baby from Wrexham, little Ollie, was born with a rare and complex heart condition deemed ‘inoperable’ by doctors in the UK and Europe. But thanks to Reynolds’ support and a massive fundraising campaign, Ollie’s story took a hopeful turn.
Backed by a whopping £1.5 million campaign, including a £10,000 donation from the Hollywood star and Wrexham AFC co-owner himself, Ollie was able to undergo a life-saving 11-hour surgery at Stanford Children’s Hospital in the US – one of the few places in the world where such a complex procedure could be done.
Ollie’s mother, Jasmin Roberts, shared the incredible news that the surgery was a success! The medical team completed the complex procedure, and Ollie is now recovering in the ICU, showing promising signs of improvement. This little fighter’s journey isn’t over yet, as he’ll need another surgery back in the UK soon. But for now, his future is looking much brighter.
Jasmin expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, saying, “I cannot put into words how grateful I am to every single person who helped make this possible. You quite literally helped fix my baby’s heart.”
This isn’t the first time Reynolds and his co-partner Rob McElhenney have stepped in to lend a hand. Since taking over Wrexham AFC in 2021, they’ve been shining examples of kindness, supporting not just football causes but also individuals and families in need across North Wales. From helping fans with disabilities to supporting local food banks, their contributions reach far and wide.
