Heartbroken fans are mourning the loss of Auroras Encore, the legendary horse who captured hearts and galloped to glory at the 2013 Grand National. At odds of 66/1, he pulled off a spectacular victory at Aintree with jockey Ryan Mania, making headlines and dreams come true for trainer Sue Smith. Auroras Encore, aged 23, leaves behind a legacy as the longest-priced winner of the race in over 15 years and the first northern-trained champion in more than three decades.

Announcing the sad news, J Parkinson and S Smith Racing shared a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on the incredible journey and achievements that fans will never forget. After retiring in 2014 due to a leg injury, Auroras Encore enjoyed his golden years in comfort, cherished by those who knew him best.
