Incredible Escape: Man sneaked into the UK hidden in a truck, ends up evading police across rooftops for 10 days

A dramatic encounter with the law unfolded in Swansea just days after Emiljan Doci entered the UK. Smuggled from France in the back of a lorry for a whopping £18,000 fee, Doci found himself tangled in a web of illegal activities to repay his debt. Working at a cannabis farm turned out to be more than he bargained for. When police raided the property, he made a daring escape attempt by smashing through the attic and sprinting over rooftops.

However, his rooftop dash was short-lived as he was quickly spotted and apprehended. Officers discovered a large-scale cannabis operation inside the property, boasting 205 mature plants and equipment, with its electricity supply suspiciously bypassed. The captured stash could have fetched an estimated £88,000 wholesale.

Ice in his veins, Doci confessed his full story during his interview, explaining the perilous journey and his reluctance to work in drug production, driven by the fear for his family’s safety back in France. With no prior convictions in the UK, Doci pleaded guilty to producing cannabis.

The Swansea Crown Court judge didn’t hold back, emphasising that Doci must have known the high risks he was courting by entering the UK illegally. Acknowledging his role as merely a “gardener” in the operation, the judge sentenced Doci to 20 months in prison with the expectation of deportation following his release.
