New statistics from the Welsh Government have highlighted the most deprived parts of Wales. Published every five years, the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) considers factors like income, health, education, housing, and service access to identify the areas in greatest need of support.

This year, Blaenau Gwent tops the list as the most deprived area, while Monmouthshire is at the opposite end. Areas like Rhyl, Cardiff, Caerphilly, and Swansea are facing significant challenges, with some regions in Rhyl and Wrexham remaining in the top 10 most deprived since 2005.
