📢 Major Rugby Update: Wales Hit with Injury Blow! 🏉

Get ready for a summer of intense rugby action, but there’s a twist! Keiron Assiratti, our star tighthead prop, has been sidelined due to an unfortunate calf injury during Cardiff’s United Rugby Championship semi-final. This leaves us a bit exposed as we gear up for a demanding series of summer Tests against some of the best teams in the world, including Fiji, Argentina, and the reigning champs, South Africa.

With the experienced Tomas Francis taking a break and Bath’s Archie Griffin opting for surgery, the tighthead position is looking thinner than ever. We’re all eyes on the 57-cap Dillon Lewis, who could step up as the first-choice prop, although he hasn’t played for Wales since March 2024. Meanwhile, uncapped talents like Ospreys’ Rhys Henry and Ben Warren, along with Cardiff’s Sam Wainwright, are being eyed as potential squad additions.
As Wales prepares to face the Barbarians at Twickenham on 27 June, followed by a battle in the Nations Championship starting with Fiji at home, the pressure’s on to strengthen our scrum. Can we hold our ground against the scrummaging might of Argentina and South Africa? Time will tell!
Stay tuned for all the latest updates as Wales navigates this challenging summer rugby schedule. 🏆
