Imagine thinking you’re chatting with a 14-year-old only to find out it’s all a decoy! Ryan Hawkins, a 40-year-old prisoner at HMP Prescoed, thought he was slick, hiding a mobile, WiFi dongle, and charger in a sock in his cell. He sneakily used a secret Facebook profile under the alias “Ryan Mark” to chat up what he believed was a teen girl. Little did he know, he was actually talking to a decoy set up by a paedophile hunter group. 😮

Hawkins didn’t let the “girl’s” age stop him; he continued the conversation, sharing selfies and even saying he’d like to see her when she felt “more confident”. 😡 He complimented the decoy, calling her “pretty” and flirted heavily, even discussing going on a date upon his release.

Things heated up as Hawkins started making inappropriate advances and asked for explicit photos. He was even planning to meet the decoy in Bristol, albeit after she reached the “legal age”. 🙄

Not surprisingly, this horrid communication came to a halt when the police were tipped off. A cell search turned up the forbidden tech, and Hawkins was apprehended. After denying any inappropriate interest in children, he eventually pleaded guilty to the charges against him. Hawkins is now facing an additional 14 months behind bars.

Not only that—he’s tagged with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must adhere to sex offender requirements for the next decade. 🚔

This is another reminder that justice sees through deceit. If you see something suspicious, don’t hesitate to report it. Every action counts in protecting the innocent! 🕵️‍♀️🔒
