🎬✨ Get the inside scoop on Wrexham’s rise with Hollywood flair! 🏆
The Wrexham AFC squad is loving the star treatment from their A-list owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney! The duo has worked magic since taking over the club five years ago, leading the Red Dragons to an incredible three consecutive promotions, now standing tall in the Championship. 👏🔴🐉
Wrexham’s goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo, didn’t hold back on the praise for the dynamic duo, calling them among football’s best. Not just owning the club, but also giving personal pep talks and support — it’s like having a blockbuster cast behind the scenes! 🎥⚽ Ryan even hyped the team at their thrilling FA Cup triumph over Premier League’s Nottingham Forest, where Okonkwo shone bright, saving two penalties in the nerve-wracking shootout.
Okonkwo shared on Men in Blazers podcast that Reynolds was a motivational force, charging them with energy before they hit the pitch. It’s not every day your owner is there giving fist bumps and encouragement, right? 🤝🔥 Okonkwo added, “When your owners give you that sort of positive energy before the game, I feel like every player wants to go and perform.”
Let’s not forget James McClean, the former club captain, who recently returned to his roots with Derry City. Despite being a bit of a controversial figure, his leadership and spirit were vital in Wrexham’s promotion journey. Okonkwo highlighted McClean’s incredible character and unyielding beliefs, earning great respect from his teammates. 🏅🇮🇪
With a global fanbase fuelled by their Disney+ docu-series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, this club is more than just a local treasure – it’s a worldwide phenomenon, all thanks to the Reynolds-McElhenney touch! 🌍🎬
