🎗️ Meet Jovita Jones, a real-life warrior from Abergavenny! Despite appearing fit and healthy, this dedicated mum was shocked at 24 to discover she had sky-high cholesterol. Now, she bravely shares her journey to shed light on an often invisible threat—familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH).

Jovita’s story is heart-wrenching. After relocating to Wales, she thought she was managing her health with medication. But in 2010, she suffered her first heart attack at work—totally unexpected! A year later, she was diagnosed with FH, a genetic condition affecting her cholesterol levels, inherited from both parents. Then, a second heart attack struck in 2012.

Living with FH isn’t easy. Jovita takes over 20 tablets daily, battles ongoing side effects, and keeps active with tai chi—proving that a heart attack isn’t the end. She hopes her story challenges misconceptions about heart health and who might be at risk.
Her fearless spirit inspires her son Adrian, now pursuing cardiology to help families like theirs. Jovita also channels her energy into raising tens of thousands for the British Heart Foundation since 2015. She’s a force of positivity, reminding us all: “You cannot see someone’s heart health from the outside!”
