World champion kickboxer Tyler Ford is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 18-year-old has appeared at Swansea Crown Court, charged with the murder of Ceiran Evans in Gorseinon. The incident, which happened on July 9, also involves charges of the attempted murder of another individual in a crash between a car and an off-road motorbike on Pen Cae Crwn Road.

In the brief court hearing, Ford, who hails from Waun Road, Morriston, confirmed his name but didn’t enter any pleas. Mark your calendars: a plea and case management hearing is set for September 29, with a two-week trial commencing on January 11 next year.

Remembering Ceiran Evans, his devastated family shared a heartfelt tribute: “Ceiran was loved more than any words can say and will be missed every single day. His kind heart, wicked sense of humour, loving nature, and handsome smile brought so much joy to everyone who knew him. He will forever be our precious baby boy; always loved, always remembered, and never forgotten.”
