Big leadership change at Velindre NHS Trust! 🚨 After less than a year in the role, chief executive David Donegan has stepped down. Donegan, who took the reins in late 2024, originally hailed from Cork and brought with him a wealth of NHS experience from England and Wales. When he started, he expressed excitement about the future of Velindre and the impact it would have on the community.

Now, Carl James steps in as the interim chief executive while the trust navigates this transition. Dr Jacinta Abraham will support him as deputy chief executive. Both are no strangers to these roles and bring experience and commitment to the table.

Velindre Trust remains focused on ambitious plans to transform and improve, with unwavering commitment to the patients and donors at its heart. They have expressed deep gratitude for the dedication and hard work of their entire team, whose efforts are key to their ongoing success.
