Judge Geraint Walters slammed Kirimi for “mocking the generosity” of the UK authorities, accusing him of being part of a growing problem fueled by organised crime. The shop, World of Vapes, had already been flagged for illegal activity and faced a temporary closure last year. 🚷

Despite the closure, Kirimi was bold enough to continue selling the dodgy products with the help of a young courier, later revealed to be a 17-year-old asylum seeker. Officers seized 590 packets of illegal tobacco, 750 cigarettes, and 218 vapes, along with £1,570 in cash. 💼💷

Kirimi, who claimed he was only covering for a friend at the shop, admitted to his crimes via video link and was sentenced to two years in prison. His previous conviction for similar offences didn’t help his case, and the judge emphasised the consequence of his actions. ⚖️

The question of whether Kirimi can remain in the UK is now up to the Home Office. This incident highlights the impact of counterfeit goods on our communities and the stern measures authorities are taking. 🏛️
