Exciting news for Tenby! Lisheen’s Coffee Pod, located at the railway station, just got the green light to add alcohol to their menu despite some opposition. While the British Transport Police raised concerns about potential violence and disorder due to past incidents in the area, Pembrokeshire council’s licensing committee decided to approve the application.

The coffee shop, run by Nicola Nolan, will now offer a selection of trendier alcoholic options such as wine, craft beers, and Barti Ddu rum, available from 11am to 8pm every day. The Nolans assure there will be no budget pints or strong spirits, and security measures will be in place if needed.

Despite the police opposition, which referenced a brawling incident in April involving teens and a knife, the council seemed satisfied with the safety measures proposed. Jessica Jones of the British Transport Police expressed concerns about adding another alcohol vendor so close to previous trouble spots, but the decision stands.
It’s still to be seen how this new dynamic will play out at the station. Until then, Tenby awaits the added flair at Lisheen’s!
