🏉 Exciting News for Welsh Rugby Fans! 🏉
After an eight-month wait, we’re thrilled to announce that Peter Murchie is taking the helm as Wales’ new defence coach! 🎉 Formerly a Scotland international, Murchie will be stepping into the role just in time for this summer’s Nations Championship, bringing his expertise from Kobe Steelers in Japan.
Murchie’s impressive track record includes stints at Glasgow Warriors, where he helped clinch the 2024 United Rugby Championship. His coaching journey began in France and even saw him filling in for Scotland during the 2021 Lions tour.
Head Coach Steve Tandy is ecstatic, noting, “Pete’s a talented coach with an exceptional style and mindset. He’ll be a real asset as we head into the Nations Championship.”
Murchie is equally enthused about the new challenge, expressing his excitement to transition into international rugby with Wales. “The chance to compete in such thrilling competitions on the horizon is something me and my family are hugely excited about,” he said.
With this fresh addition to the coaching team, Wales is gearing up for exciting times ahead. Let’s cheer them on as they prepare for the Nations Championship and beyond! 🏆
