What was once a mostly vacant commercial building at the bustling corner of Bute Place and Pierhead Street has now become a vibrant hub of one to four-bedroom homes, offering breathtaking views of Roath Basin and Cardiff Bay. The project rolled out in two phases, with the first 33 high-quality apartments completed back in July 2025. Now, the remaining 45 homes are all set to be allocated to families on the city’s social housing waiting list.
Cllr Lynda Thorne, the dedicated Cabinet Member for housing, shared her excitement about this milestone. “In response to the housing emergency, we’ve explored every avenue to increase our affordable housing supply quickly. It’s fantastic to see Scott Harbour now fully open and providing beautiful and vital family homes right in the heart of Cardiff Bay.”
