A BMW bumper mishap led to much more than expected for Joshua Hyett! When police witnessed a minor crash in Swansea’s Penlan area, they quickly became suspicious of Hyett’s behaviour. It turns out, this wasn’t just an ordinary fender bender. Officers discovered Hyett, a 29-year-old dad of three, with a stash of drugs, cash, and a phone loaded with drug-related messages. They found diazepam, cannabis, and cocaine during their search, along with nearly £600.

In court, Hyett claimed the drugs were for personal use and the cash was from benefits and selling vehicles. However, evidence from his phone painted a different picture, showing months of messages related to drug supply.
His lawyer described him as a “poly-drug user” who turned to dealing to support his habit. Sadly, his actions have wider consequences, affecting his children and the grandmother he cares for. Despite pleading guilty, Hyett now faces 38 months in prison.

It’s a cautionary tale of how quickly things can escalate, reminding us of the far-reaching impact of drug-related crime—not just on those involved, but on their families too. Keep safe out there, everyone! 🚔👮♂️
