🚨 Shocking Incident in Newport 🚨
An 84-year-old man, Charles Sully, tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road near his home. The driver, Mark Ball, instead of stopping to help, fled the scene leaving Mr. Sully seriously injured.
Despite poor weather, Mr. Sully was visible, but Ball continued driving, ultimately striking him. After initially stopping, Ball reversed away at high speed and vanished, nearly causing another crash!
Witnesses quickly called emergency services. A doctor passing by immediately rushed to assist Mr. Sully, but unfortunately, he later passed away due to his severe injuries.
When police tracked down Ball, he shockingly tried to pin the blame on his own father, even as evidence was stacked against him. Initially denying he was the driver, Ball faced multiple charges including causing death by careless driving and driving without insurance.
In court, it was revealed Ball had an extensive criminal history with 90 offences! Despite attempting to express remorse through his barrister, the judge postponed his sentencing to assess Ball’s health issues.
