🚨 Shocking Incident in Merthyr Tydfil: Axe-Wielding Man Arrested! 🚨
A terrifying scene unfolded on April 28 when Simon Morris, 48, showed up at a woman’s house brandishing an axe. Caught on CCTV, Morris repeatedly struck the door, demanding entry and issuing chilling threats to “chop people up” if ignored. 😲
The drama began around 6:40 am when Morris turned up at the property, violently kicking the door and shouting. Fortunately, the victim wasn’t home at the time, but she was left “petrified” after witnessing the footage of the event on her return.
After being arrested on April 30, Morris gave no comment during police interviews but later admitted to possession of an offensive weapon and causing criminal damage. This incident isn’t a one-off; Morris’s record includes 22 previous convictions, some involving violence.
During the court hearing, his defence described the act as “impulsive and stupid,” citing his struggles with drug and alcohol abuse. Despite mitigating factors, the judge handed down a six-month prison sentence and issued a two-year restraining order against Morris.
The community is urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
