⚠️ Heartbreaking Story of Domestic Abuse ⚠️

Thomas Jones, 43, from Pontypridd has been found guilty of a violent series of assaults on his girlfriend. Charged with intentional strangulation and assault, this shocking case reveals the grim reality of domestic abuse.

The victim, bravely calling the police, was attacked while on the phone, her head forced into a radiator. This escalated further with Jones making chilling threats, claiming he’d “burn her house down” and “put her in a grave.”

Unfortunately, this was not the first time. An earlier incident saw Jones trying to force his girlfriend to drink alcohol, taunting her with vile names, and physically restraining her on the bed.
The court heard how the victim’s life was turned upside down. Once outgoing, she now lives in fear, constantly on edge and unable to trust others. Her moving victim statement highlights the profound impact these assaults had on her mental health and daily life.
Released on bail, Jones continued his abusive behaviour until his second arrest, after which he was remanded. The court has since sentenced him to a 12-month prison term, suspended for 18 months, with strict conditions including rehab programmes and an alcohol monitoring requirement. A 5-year restraining order has been imposed to protect the victim.
The justice system takes a firm stand against violence towards women, with Judge Jeremy Jenkins calling such acts cowardly. While Jones has shown some progress by securing a construction job and remaining sober, the court’s decision reflects the severity of his actions.
Let’s stand by survivors and continue to speak out against domestic violence. Remember, help is always available for those in need. 🙏💪
