A shocking case has come to light in Cardiff. Mohammed Ahmed, with a troubling history of violence and intimidation against his ex-girlfriend, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison after pushing her into traffic and wishing her harm. Despite a restraining order in place since 2020, Ahmed showed blatant disregard for the law, repeatedly harassing his ex-partner and even breaking into her home.

During one terrifying encounter near the Angel Hotel, Ahmed not only pushed her into the road but also demanded “respect” in a bizarre assault. When police intervened, he lashed out, leaving a police officer with a bloody nose.

Ahmed is no stranger to the courts. He has past convictions involving violence against the same woman, including a previous 20-month sentence for violent acts.
The court acknowledged Ahmed’s newfound interest in his faith and efforts in rehabilitation while in prison, but Judge Hywel James made it clear that his actions were nothing short of “horrific.” The judge reminded him that the restraining order remains in force and any further breaches could lead to more severe penalties.
As Ahmed faces the consequences of his actions, this case serves as a grim reminder of the impact of domestic violence and the importance of upholding protection orders to safeguard victims.
