A Swansea man was caught in a shocking crime! Timothy Boorman, 60, embarked on a 200-mile journey across the country with the intention of committing horrific offences against a child. He initiated contact online before travelling from his home in Killay to north Kent on August 13. However, his plans were thwarted as Kent Police intercepted and arrested him, bringing his sinister journey to an abrupt end.

Boorman was charged with serious crimes, including arranging the commission of the rape of a child, and didn’t hesitate to plead guilty at Maidstone Crown Court. On November 14, justice was served as he received a six-year prison sentence along with an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

PC Aimee Edwards, one of the investigating officers, remarked that Boorman posed a significant danger to children. Thanks to swift police action, he was apprehended before he could cause any harm. Even after serving his sentence, Boorman will face a strict court order, ensuring he’s closely monitored with regular unannounced visits from officers.

This case highlights the crucial role of police vigilance and timely interventions in safeguarding children and ensuring that those with harmful intentions face the full weight of the law. Let’s stay aware and keep our communities safe!
