🚴 Exciting news for cycling enthusiasts! The scenic Towy Valley cycle path in Carmarthenshire is set to fully open by May. While Mother Nature hasn’t exactly been on our side recently, with rain causing a few delays, the new route promises stunning vistas and a convenient link for locals.

This council-led project has been years in the making and will stretch about 13 miles, connecting Abergwili near Carmarthen to Ffairfach by Llandeilo. It’s a game-changer not just for cyclists but also for the local economy and tourism.

Some sections are already complete, with recent progress on two new parts between Llanarthne and Cilsan. Plus, the installation of two gorgeous bridges over the Towy and Cothi rivers!
With such significant investment, including £16.7 million from the previous UK government, the aim is to offer a brilliant shared-use path that entices tourists and serves as a commuting option for those nearby.
While we’ve seen some flooding in low-lying areas due to the recent weather, the council assures everything is on track for a May unveil. Independent councillor Edward Thomas hinted we might even see it finished by March! 🎉
Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to pedal through one of Wales’ most beautiful landscapes! 🌳🚴♂️🚴♀️
