Dr Sabine Donnai, a specialist in health and longevity, has shared some eye-opening facts about paper receipts. Many of these receipts—especially in the US—contain Bisphenol-A (BPA), a chemical that could mess with hormones and fertility levels. Scary, right? Turns out, handling these papers regularly might be more harmful than we realise.

📢 Dr Sabine’s advice:
– Shop workers, if you’re handing out receipts daily, consider wearing nitrile gloves to reduce exposure.
– Remember, although avoiding receipts might be smart, touching one occasionally isn’t likely to be harmful.
– Washing hands might seem like a solution, but it doesn’t significantly prevent BPA absorption. And beware of hand sanitiser—apparently, it can make matters 150 times worse! 😱

Here’s something positive: Since 2020, the UK has banned BPA on receipts. But, a similar chemical, BPS, lurks around, potentially posing the same risks. However, some British retailers, like Co-op, are leading the charge by eliminating these chemicals altogether. 🎉

So next time you’re out shopping, think twice before taking that receipt. 📜❤️

Stay safe and savvy this festive season! 🌟
