Heartbreaking news from North Yorkshire as a teenage girl has sadly lost her life in a crash involving a minibus and a car. This tragic incident took place on Monday afternoon on Leeds Road near Tadcaster. The minibus, carrying nine teenagers aged 16 to 18, collided with a Hyundai i10 at the junction of Toulston Lane and Rudgate.
Emergency services responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, the young girl could not be saved and died at the scene. Another teenage girl was seriously injured and rushed to hospital, though thankfully her injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening. The rest of the passengers, including the minibus driver, suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the hospital.
In a significant update, a 40-year-old woman, who was driving the Hyundai, has been arrested in relation to the crash. Police continue their investigation, keeping Toulston Lane closed while they gather evidence.
