Exciting news for Troedyrhiw! A brand new fence has been given the green light to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area. Plans have been approved for a 1.2m high metal fence along Furnace Row and Ash Road, designed to enhance safety for everyone enjoying the Taff Trail.

While there were mixed reactions from locals, with some worried about its impact on the community’s charm and interactions along the trail, the fence is ultimately here to improve safety. It promises to cut down on accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, and motorbike users—a big win for community security!
The fence design was adjusted to address concerns: its height was reduced, and the colour was changed to black for a more seamless look. There’s also some environmental love, with plans for bat and bird boxes to be set up nearby, boosting local biodiversity. Plus, reflective strips on the posts will ensure it’s visible at night.

Community feedback was crucial in shaping these improvements, and overall, this development aims to blend safety with respect for residents’ concerns and local history. What do you think about the new safety measures in Troedyrhiw? Share your thoughts!
