Café 50 has been the go-to place for the over 50s, providing a space to socialise, participate in fun activities, and enjoy affordable meals. It’s more than just a café—it’s a hub where friendships blossom, and laughter is a constant companion. For many elderly locals, especially those living with dementia, it offers invaluable support and reduces the feeling of isolation.
The makeover, courtesy of Dulux’s ‘Let’s Colour – Colour of the Year Community Competition,’ will see this vital space transformed with vibrant colours and even more inviting interiors, thanks to the creative direction of a top global interiors brand. Everyone at Café 50, especially Community Engagement Officer Tara Davies, is buzzing with anticipation for this glow-up!
Over the years, Café 50 has grown from five to eighteen regular groups, all run by dedicated volunteers. They’ve embraced initiatives like ‘Bingo and Buffet’ nights, supported by local grants, to draw more people into the fold.
