The children’s bed had no proper bedding, and the kitchen was a hazard zone, overflowing with soiled nappies, rubbish, and unused utensils. Even the only ‘clean’ area—the gaming room—was littered with nappies and other debris.
Officers struggled with the overwhelming smell, with one even needing to step outside to make a phone call. The conditions were so severe they posed serious health risks to the children. The mother pleaded guilty to charges of child neglect, citing the impact of past domestic abuse on her mental health as a contributing factor to the situation.
