Shocking news emerged as Nadine Marshall, mother of Conner Marshall, learned that her son’s killer was back in court—through the media! David Braddon, who brutally attacked and murdered Conner at Trecco Bay caravan park in 2015, faced fresh charges, but the probation service failed to notify Nadine.

The distress began on March 8, 2015, when 18-year-old Conner, from Barry, was viciously attacked by Braddon, who was on probation at the time for other offences. Conner, who had a passion for photography, was enjoying a night out with friends before the unthinkable happened. He was found the following morning with severe injuries and sadly passed away four days later.

Braddon, already serving a life sentence, was recently back in Cardiff Crown Court, facing charges related to possessing a mobile phone in prison and dealing with criminal property. Nadine, who didn’t receive any notification from the National Probation Service, only came across the news online. A disturbing and gut-wrenching discovery no mother should endure.
Nadine has been vocal about the lack of support for victims’ families, founding VOICE (Victims Oversight in Criminal Enforcement) to advocate for better care and communication. “We are the forgotten voices,” she expressed, underscoring the ongoing pain and injustice she and many other families face.
As Nadine reflects on the proximity of Braddon’s current prison to where Conner was murdered, she’s left with questions and little solace. The Ministry of Justice has acknowledged the issue and is investigating. But for now, the heartache and frustration remain raw, especially as the anniversary of Conner’s tragic death approaches.
This story highlights the importance of supporting victims’ families and ensuring they are kept informed every step of the way. Conner’s tragic story is just one among many where the system has let families down. 💔
