Emily Casey, a devoted mum of five, is in a desperate fight against time after falling critically ill while on a family holiday in Gran Canaria. At just 34, Emily was rushed to hospital struggling to breathe, and she’s now in an induced coma battling pneumonia and sepsis.

Her husband, Jamie, says it will take a staggering £15,000 to bring Emily back home to Wirral, Merseyside. Although she has insurance, a previous pneumonia bout wasn’t declared, complicating the claim.

Initially, doctors suspected a blood clot and asked for £3,000 for a CT scan. Later they found both a lung full of fluid and another partially filled due to pneumonia. Jamie faced a frightening night, unable to reach Emily and learning the next day she was sedated into a coma.

Emily’s mum has flown to her side, while Jamie has returned to England to arrange childcare before heading back to be with Emily. In spite of some initial improvements, the aggressive pneumonia and sepsis have returned, and they’re struggling to find the right antibiotics to fight it off.

Determined to bring Emily home, Jamie has launched a GoFundMe page to raise the necessary funds. At last count, they were close to reaching the £15,000 target with £11,000 raised thanks to the overwhelming generosity of supporters.

Jamie expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Emily is everything to us, and any donation, no matter how small, is appreciated more than words can express.”

Please keep Emily and her family in your thoughts and consider supporting their fight to bring her back home. 🙏
