🌍💫 A Heartwarming Journey of Kindness and Courage 🚴♀️❤️

Driving home one day along Pembrokeshire’s scenic routes, Jo Furnival-Doran encountered a young man, Mo, lost and miles from home on a Welsh country road. Mo, a 19-year-old asylum seeker from Gaza, was trying to get food but faced language barriers and no transport.

Jo didn’t just offer him a ride — she invited him into her family. With her daughter Molly’s help, who spoke a bit of Arabic from her time volunteering in the West Bank, Mo found a home away from home with them.
Fast forward and the connection with Mo has inspired Molly to embark on a massive adventure. A former international athlete, Molly plans to cycle nearly 4,800km from Brighton to Gaza, determined to raise funds for grassroots charities supporting people in Gaza. She’s cycling to honour the monumental journey Mo made and raise awareness of the challenges faced by many like him.
Despite not being a professional cyclist, Molly will tackle this challenge across various European and Middle Eastern landscapes. She’s determined to safely reach as close to the Rafah-Gaza border as possible. Mo stands by to support her, planning to join her in Egypt towards the end of her journey to reconnect with his roots and express gratitude for the warmth and love shown by Molly’s family.
Mo, now settled in the UK, finds strength and comfort in his bond with Molly. Their friendship highlights the extraordinary impact of empathy and human connection, transcending borders and backgrounds.
Molly’s mission, aptly named “The Cycle has to Change,” is not just about charity, but also continuing the conversation about global displacement and the human stories behind them. By cycling and fundraising, Molly aims to help others like Mo, thanks to the love and lessons this unexpected friendship has brought.
Let’s cheer Molly on her way and recognize Mo’s courage by supporting this inspiring journey. Together, they’re proving that no matter where you’re from, the values of family and kindness truly transcend everything.
