Devastating news as James Bulger’s grave has been vandalised, leaving his mother Denise Fergus heartbroken. James was tragically murdered at just two years old in 1993 by Jon Venables and Robert Thompson, both 10 at the time. Today, Denise shared the shocking news on social media after being informed that James’s headstone and its surrounding area had been damaged. The heartbreaking incident seems to have occurred between 10 am and 3:30 pm.

Images show the destruction: the cherubs by his headstone have been smashed. Denise’s heartfelt plea urges anyone with information to reach out, either through the charity she set up in James’s memory or by contacting Merseyside Police. James’s mother, who is committed to aiding other families through her charity work, is deeply distressed by this cruel act and wants justice for her son.

This news arrives as Denise struggles with the potential parole of Venables, who has repeatedly faced imprisonment for further offences since his release. With Denise attending his upcoming parole hearing for the first time, she expresses deep concern about the prospect of his release. She fears for public safety, given his past behaviour and the protection he currently has.
If you have any information about the vandalism, Merseyside Police are requesting your help. You can contact them on 101 or reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111. Let’s come together as a community to support Denise and ensure justice for James.
