Meet Vanessa Kendall, a super-fit mum of two whose life took an unexpected turn. 🏃‍♀️ Known for her love of running and incredible stamina, she first noticed something was off when her race times started to slip in summer 2024. She brushed it off as asthma, chalked up to a routine flu that struck her family later that year.

But by February 2025, when her persistent cough became too much to handle – even muting herself on work calls – she sought medical help. Initially diagnosed with asthma, Vanessa felt some relief, but her condition didn’t improve. After a conversation with a friend at a Park Run, she opted for a chest X-ray. The results were devastating. Her condition was more serious than she could have imagined: stage four metastatic cancer that had spread to her liver, spine, lymph nodes, kidneys, and brain. 😢

Despite undergoing a tough three-month chemotherapy regime, scans in January showed further spread. With treatment options on the NHS being limited, especially due to her rare type of lung cancer known as Exon 20, Vanessa has now turned to fundraising for private treatment. 💪

“I’m overwhelmed by the support I’ve received already; it’s been unbelievable,” says Vanessa. The community rallying around her has been a beacon of hope during these challenging times. 💓

🚀 Vanessa’s journey is one of bravery and determination as she seeks the necessary treatment to continue her battle. Every bit of support counts, and if you’d like to help Vanessa in her fight, you can donate to her GoFundMe here: [Vanessa’s Fight with Cancer](https://www.gofundme.com/f/cvcs4n-vanessas-fight-with-cancer).
