A worried mum has shared her fears for her 19-year-old son who was attacked in Parc prison. Allegedly tricked into entering another inmate’s cell, he was wounded with a makeshift weapon. The teen, serving three years for a firearm offence linked to gang feuds, phoned his mum, distraught and fearing for his life.

According to the mother, the incident spiralled from a financial incentive offered by a rival gang member. Consequently, her son is now in solitary confinement, purportedly for his own safety. His mum is deeply concerned about the impact of isolation on his mental health and is pushing for him to be moved elsewhere within the facility.
Parc prison, operated by G4S, has faced criticism for security lapses and is no stranger to violent incidents, with reports highlighting challenges like drug smuggling and staffing shortages. While G4S confirmed the injury was minor and treated on-site, the mum feels the prison could be doing more to protect her son.
