Kath, 46, realised her usual lottery numbers scooped the jackpot after the June 6 draw. Yet, chaos ensued when the ticket her mum bought was binned by a shopkeeper in Abercynon, who said it wasn’t a winner.

Initially, Kath’s mum was assured by a Londis store that their ticket wasn’t a winner. Trusting the machine, the ticket was tossed out as junk! 😱 But, according to Kath, those numbers were hers alright.

Kath, who’s a mum of two and keeps the books for a rugby club, expressed her distress: “It’s tormenting not knowing and having to wait.” 💔

The lottery operator, Allwyn, is investigating her claim. Kath’s provided proof of her routine number purchases, even footage from a nearby salon showing her mum at the shop. 📹

Could a faulty ticket machine be at fault? The investigation’s ongoing, and Kath remains hopeful, though the store didn’t have CCTV due to renovations. Meanwhile, no lottery transactions are happening there while this is sorted.

Kath muses: “I’m the world’s unluckiest lottery winner because I haven’t got the money.” 💭 Despite the heartache, she dreams about travelling to New Zealand for 2029’s Lions rugby tour should things swing her way.

What a whirlwind – fingers crossed for Kath! 🤞
