It’s a story that still haunts many… 13 years ago, Kyle Vaughan vanished without a trace. On December 30, 2012, his silver Peugeot 306 was found crashed on the A467, but Kyle was nowhere to be seen. The once vibrant and fun-loving 24-year-old left his Newbridge home that morning and was last spotted late that night. Yet, mystery shrouds his disappearance, leaving his family desperate for answers all this time.

After his car was discovered, an extensive investigation unfolded—one of the largest police efforts Wales has seen. Initially a missing person case, it later shifted to a murder inquiry, with eight arrests made, yet no charges followed. Over these years, detectives have scoured around 40 locations, interviewed over 200 individuals, and gathered nearly 900 witness statements, hoping for a breakthrough.

In October 2016, the High Court declared him legally dead, but the heartache for his family remains. His father, Alan Lucas, remembers Kyle as a “larger-than-life” rock music fan with an irresistible charisma. His disappearance was completely out of character, leaving friends and family stunned.

On this somber anniversary, Detective Inspector Rhys Williams renews the plea for information, emphasising the profound impact on Kyle’s loved ones. He believes someone out there holds the key to solving this enduring puzzle. If you know anything, please step forward.

Kyle was last seen wearing a dark beanie, a T-shirt, denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.
