Shocking Discovery in Athens: Scotswoman Found in Suitcase After Meeting ‘Mystery Americans’

Intrigue and tragedy in Athens as the body of Elisabeth-Jane Ross, affectionately known as Lisa, was discovered in a suitcase by a homeless man on July 18. Lisa, a 38-year-old Scotswoman, had reportedly left her friends in the Keratsini district, telling them she was off to meet some American acquaintances in the Kypseli neighbourhood just days before her tragic end.
The circumstances surrounding her death are baffling. A series of text messages sent from her phone add layers to the mystery. On July 15, a message to a friend claimed she needed time alone, heading to a Greek island. Other messages sent to her family indicated she wanted solitude. Detectives are now investigating whether those texts were genuinely sent by Lisa, as suspicions rise over their authenticity and the phone’s activity.

Despite being identified by fingerprints due to her DNA not matching any Greek records, Greek broadcaster ERT and Proto Thema shed light on her movements, stating she arrived in Greece from Cyprus last month. Lacking any signs of struggle or injury, investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of her untimely death.

Police Scotland and the Foreign Office are closely working with Greek authorities, ensuring support for Lisa’s family back in Scotland during this challenging time. Our hearts go out to all touched by this tragic loss. As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind Lisa’s mysterious and heartbreaking demise.
