A shocking incident took place in Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd, when 41-year-old Adrian Simcox turned up at his neighbour’s house with flowers but ended up causing turmoil instead. What started as a seemingly kind gesture soon spiralled out of control when Simcox, uninvited, refused to leave the woman’s home. Despite requests to go, he remained, causing her visible distress.

Things went from bad to worse as the situation escalated. When police arrived, Simcox lashed out violently, injuring officers and even biting them after revealing he was HIV positive. He resisted arrest with a worrying level of aggression, only increasing concerns when he disclosed he was under the influence of crystal meth.

The chaos didn’t end there. On being taken to the station, Simcox caused more disruption, attacking officers and damaging a police van. The court later heard that Simcox had no prior convictions but suffered from psychiatric issues that contributed to his actions.
Sentenced at Swansea Crown Court, Simcox was given a two-year community order along with a requirement to undertake a rehabilitation activity. While the court noted his previous good character, there was no denying the fear he instilled that day.
